The green festival goer: keeping clean
Now, if you’ve shelled out for that luxury festival accommodation previously discussed, you probably won’t have shower problems at all. If you haven’t, on the other hand, chances are that showers will end up being a longed for, but not very pleasurable experience even if you do get to the front of the queue. Let’s face it folks, public showers are not the nicest or the cleanest. I’d much prefer my own private shower, no matter where I am.
So here’s a shower solution for festivals, although you’re going to have to clever and find somewhere to hang it. A tree, a tall fence post, you’ll need to be inventive. And you’ll probably want to shower in your swimming costume, Big Brother style. But at least it will be warm and you won’t need to queue for it. The solar shower from Gelert holds 20 litres of water, which will warm in the sun to give you a hot shower, anywhere, anytime. It’ll take about 3 hours to get to a good showering temperature on an average summer’s day.
If you absolutely can’t be bothered with showers of one sort or another while you’re at a festival, here’s an idea for keeping you feeling fresh even if you’ve got mud in your hair, and especially handy if you happen to have your period while you’re at a festival. Natracare Organic Cotton natural wipes are gentle for cleansing delicate skin without the harsh chemicals and damaging preservatives used in everyday wipes.
