Fred Perry Vintage Tennis Shoes
On my list of clothes to buy for the summer is a pair of casual and practical shoes that will look great with jeans, shorts and other casual wear. I have never been fan of trainers and prefer to wear them when I do sport, which is a fairly rare occurence. I do however have a fairly active life and like to walk every where whenever possible so a comfy pair of casual shoes is essential.
I love these vintage style Fred Perry tennis shoes. Fred Perry, by the way, was a famous tennis player known as one of the worlds greatest players. He was also known for his relationships with film stars including Marlene Dietrich and Helen Vinson. He became associated with his own clothing brand that was associated with polo shirts with the famous laurel logo. These polo shirts were adopted by the Mods in the late fifities and ever since Fred Perry has become associated with British street style.

Moncler - Keeping stylish and warm on the slopes

picture from Madame Figaro France 12/9/2008
When it comes to keeping warm in artic like conditions with style, Moncler has to be the master. Moncler was founded in 1962 but is still cool and warm at the same time. It’s products are the ultimate in quality and have been developed and perfected with the help of mountain climbers. The brand is surrounded by Olympic history and French patriotism, as it was chosen at the 1962 Olympics in Grenoble to be the supplier of the official outfits for the French team.
On the ski slopes a Moncler ski jacket is one of the best items of clothing that you could possibly have. Moncler clothing is well recognised for its performance in extreme conditions. In the eighties Moncler became not a sportwear but a high fashion brand when it was seen on the Paninari, Milans hippest set and some of the worlds most powerful trend setters.
Today the brand continues to hold its own in the fashion and performance stakes. In 2007, they launched a new accessories collection and the Moncler Gamme Rouge collection which was conceived with Alessandra Facchinetti is now under the creative guidance of Giambattista Valli.
If you want to be cool and warm on the ski slopes this season, you will love this Moncler hat.

Designer Sports Wear
I don’t usually give too much thought to sports wear. I’m not a very sporty sort of person and I don’t really care much for sports wear in a non sport situation. I like my clothes to be both comfy and practical but looking smart and presentable is also very important to me. I was however quite interested to hear the announcement that Hussein Chalayan has been appointed creative director for the sport life style label Puma. Chalayan graduated from Central Saint Martins School of Art with an honors degree in fashion. He has been named “British Designer of the Year” twice for his innovative collections and performance-based fashion productions. He is known for the fusion of art and fashion that he brings to his designs.
Puma collaborating with a top designer is not a first, Puma has also worked with Alexander McQueen and adidas by Stella McCartney is a very popular designer sports wear range. Even more recently, I have seen another designer sports wear collaboration between Gola sports shoes and Jonathan Saunders. If sportswear can really look this stylish, then perhaps I will have to take up some sport.
Here is some more really stylish designer sports wear:-
