There are plenty of clothes sales on at the moment, the perfect opportunity to bag yourself a bargain. Here are some of the biggest discounts on some of the most stylish women’s clothes. If you see something that you like, don’t delay as these goodies are not likely to stay around for long.

I have already mentioned these gorgeous nautical espadrilles in my post on Alexa Cheung and her striped tops but I had to include them in this feature as they are such an amazing bargain at only £10.

This year Santa has really excelled himself in choosing stylish and lovely Christmas Presents. I was greeted on Christmas morning by a great big stack of Christmas presents to open. Probably the most presents that I have had for Christmas since I was about 11 years old. Not one single useless or tasteless present this year and some money and gift vouchers to choose myself some lovely clothes as well, so thank you very much to Santa. Amongst my presents:

• Some luxury foods, condiments and hot chocolate cups with a little plate/ stand for putting my biscuit on.
• Mango body butter
• A plain white short sleeved T shirt
• Lots of hard backed note books for scribbling doen all my list and ideas.
• Some scented candles
• The fluffiest warmest dressing gown ever and a pair of spotty slippers.
• Jewellery - a celtic style necklace and earrings and some grey and black beads.

I am now trawling the online sales hoping to spend my Christmas money on a new jacket, some good basic black, white and grey tops and a pair of ankle boots, plus some new make up and underwear.

This leather look jacket will be a great buy as I can wear it with a jumper in the winter and it will last me right through spring.

There is a glimmer of hope this Christmas, a light at the end of the tunnel and something to celebrate. After all of the doom and gloom of the last few months, the economic slow down, the credit crunch and the global recession.  After all of the excessive Christmas spending and the melting if your credit card due to over use, the good news is that the sales this year promise to be even bigger and better than usual with prices cut by up to 50% and even more in some cases.

The sales are an ideal time to invest in a key piece by your favourite designer that you may not normally be able to afford. But sales are also a time when you can end up buying a load of stuff that either doesn’t fit your properly, doesn’t suit you or you just go right off after one wear.

The key to sales shopping is all in the preparation. Make a list of what you need or want and prioritise it. Set yourself a budget and do not go over it. Check out the shops before hand to work out which items may be in the sale. Finally make sure you dress in comfy shoes and clothing, have a good breakfast and get there early.

Of course, if you can’t cope with the scrum that sales shopping can be, there is a much easier altenative. Try the online sales, you can find exactly what you want without leaving the comfort of your own home and even better many of the online sales have already started.
