Colours at Cannes
I love a bit of red carpet glamour. I always like to have little look and see what gorgeous dresses the celebs have chosen this time. I am always amazed to see the different colours that are chosen and how cleverly they are just the right colour for the celebrities hair and eye colour and skin tone.
There were lots of neutral coloured dresses this year. As always there were a few bright reds and jewel greens. Some might say that this is an effect of the recession, but overall the dresses were just as luxurious as they always are.

Hilary Swank opted for a waterfall style Giorgio Armani dress in a gorgeous grey satin. It had an exaggerated version of this seasons pleplum.

Angelina Jolie, as always, looked amazing in this very graceful nude coloured draped Versace dress.

Robin Wright Penn looked perfect in this minimalist white dress by Narciso Rodriguez.

This wine coloured dress by Lanvin looks stunning with Juliette Binoch’s dark hair.
If you want your own show stopping red carpet dress, this Dynasty Lily’s black evening dress is perfect.

The Costume Institute Party
I have been waiting with anticipation for the Costume Institutes Annual Gala. I love a bit of red carpet glamour and with this being one of the biggest events on the sartorial calender, I couldn’t wait to see what everyone was wearing. There was one thing I knew for sure that no expense would be spared when it came to luxury and top designer clothes. The theme this year was super heroes, but this seemed to have been slightly ignored by the stars who wore the usual red carpet atire with a large does of glamour. The gala was held at the New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and hosted by Vogue Editor in Chief, Anna Wintour, Giorgio Armani, Julia Roberts and Goerge Clooney. Here are some of the dresses that I loved and loathed, of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Sofia Coppola in Marc Jacobs - this dress just oozes understated elegance. She looks great but doesn’t look like she has tried too hard.

Amanda Brookes in Marni - I’m just not getting this outfit, it doesn’t really do anything for her and is seriously lacking in red carpet glamour.

J Lo is no stranger to the red carpet her experience is serving her well when it comes to looking great for the Costume Institute Gala. The colour is a bit different but really suits her and the dress is just gorgeous, what else would you expect from Alberta Ferretti.

Julie Chen proves that black is back in this gorgeous sequinned dress.

Kate Mara is screaming look at me in this Zac Posen dress. I just love it, it reminds me of sunshine.

Kerry Diamond is not really doing herself any favours in this dress. I hate the colour the shape and the fabric.
