Trendy Designer Leggings
Leggings are one of my favourite pieces of clothing. They are a great way to add warmth and practicality to a dress, they are about as comfy as it gets and they can even add colour and pattern to an otherwise boring outfit. Lately I have been noticing some very trendy designer alternatives to the standard plain black leggings. These leggings are not merely a practicality, they are a feature in their own right. They are also great for teaming with a patterned tunic or dress for a really eclectic look, if you are brave enough.

Jeans Leggings or Jeggings
I have posted many times about leggings in their various guises from treggings to wetlook liquid leggings. My favourite leggings of the moment are Jeans leggings or jeggings as they are otherwize known. For a girl who lives in jeans, jeggings are a great and comfy alternative and the great way to turn a girly floral dress into something trendy and practical for every day wear. Jeggings are basically leggings in a denim look stretchy material. They also have the same sort of stitching details as jeans. They look like wearing super skinny pair of jeans but of course they are much comfier, easier to put on and the waist is much smoother for wearing long tops or dresses over.

Wet Look or Liquid Leggings
The wetlook or liquid leggings are a trend that has been around for some time now but I am only recently becoming able to consider wearing them without laughing. At first I found it difficult to take them seriously as a piece of fashion. Perhaps it is because I have never worn something quite so glossy and shiny before (except perhaps jewellery) or perhaps it is beacuse they conjure up images of what I imagine that someone may wear at a fetish club. They are how ever becoming something of a must have item and I am actually starting to think that they could make a stylish addition to my wardrobe, if worn in the right way.
The wet look/ liquid leggings look is however one that could go dramtically wrong. There are a few rules that I will always apply when wearing this trend.
- I will always wear them with a long tunic style top or mini dress
- I will never wear tham with anything else shiny
- I will always wear them with high heels but not stilettoes
- I will never wear them with a hoody and trainers to pop down Tescos.

Treggings
Treggings as their name would suggest are a cross between trousers and leggings. Quite simply, I love them because you get the best of both worlds, the close fit of leggings teamed with the added structure and shape. They commonly have trouser like features such as waist bands and buttoned flys. They are made of slightly more substantial material than leggings but still with lots of stretch. treggings are very wearable and versatile pieces that can quite happily fit into almost everyones wardrobe.
But please do not be seduced by treggings and their flattering qualities. When wearing treggings, normal rules of decency should always be applied. Unless you are very slim, treggings should be worn with a longish style top or tunic. Even if you are very slim please consider your actions before wearing with a shorter style top. Look very carefully in the mirror and check what you are putting on show for the rest of the world.
The Last of Summer
I think we have reached the final little bit of summer. I know it is still possible we could have an Indian summer but with the meteorlogical track record so far this year it is looking highly unlikely. So it is time to through caution to the wind (well there’s plenty of wind around) and give those summer clothes a little chance to see a bit of daylight this year. Summer has been a bit of a disappointment but I am determined to get that last bit of wear out of my floaty floral summer dresses even if that means wear them witha thermal vest and pair of leggings underneath.
Actually I am quite starting to like the trousers under a dress look. It gives you the whole practicality of wearing trousers with whimsical element of a summer dress. perfect for our rubbish climate and for squeezing that extra bit of wear out of summer clothes as you can then wear them well into Autumn.
I love these Pamela Mann Footless leggings. There are so many different colours including my favourites Flo pink, candy pink and light grey. Perfect for wearing with my severley underworn summer dresses.
