Rock n Roll Chic
picture from www.sosborne.today.com
This season there are no shortage of rock and roll muses to give you inspiration for that rock chic, bad girl look. Avril Lavigne has recently launched a rock and roll collection paying homage to the major rock gods and goddesses of our time including Madonna and Kurt Cobain. Celebrities like Daisy Lowe and Kelly Osbourne have been sporting the rock and roll look for a while now and why wouldn’t they, having grown up knowing no different. Now this rock and roll has permeated onto the catwalk with this seasons soft goth and bad girl looks including leather jackets, dark eye make up and studded jewellery.
Here are some tips if you would like to achieve the rock n roll look.
- Dye your hair black
- Put on lots of heavy black make up
- invest in a bright red or dark red lipstick
- wear anything from jeans to evening dress with a black biker jacket.
- Black skinny jeans and ankle boots are also a great rock and roll look.
- Be unique and do your own thing, try mixing different trends and see what you come up with.

This biker jacket is great for wearing with everything to achieve that rock and roll look.

Gothic Romance
I have posted about grunge and how it takes me back to my youth, well Autumn and Winter is all about reminiscing for me as there is another trend which takes me even further back in my youth and that is the goth trend. Of course it is not just a copy of the classic goth look that has been around for ages, it has a different feel about it, softer and more delicate with lots of chiffon and lace. It is also more glamorous than we have known it before with and glossy accessories.

At Rodate, it was a kind of Fairy goth mother look with dainty details and a short floaty skirt.

At Yves St Laurent- It was a power Goth look with strong tailored lines and a blunt bob haircut.

At Luella the look was defintely a witch goth with crimped hair and thick ribbons.

At Alexander McQueen - it was a historical goth look with an embroidered Elizabethan inspired dress.

For a great casual goth look, I love this A line skirt in organic wool.
