Raf Simons has been designing for Jil Sander for 3 years. For spring summer 09, he has set everyone talking with a collection that is uncharacteristically detailed for Jil Sander. The detail was in the form of long silky fringes which where inspired by the 1920’s flapper. The colour scheme was pretty true to form with black, navy and white and the shape very slim cut and lean.

Although this collection showed a lot more detail than previous collections, it did so in a very understated way giving a sophisticated feel to the clothes. My favourites are the fringed knee length dresses worn over legging for  a simple but fresh look.

For a casual take on the Jil Sander style try this Jil Sander long sleeved t shirt.
