The Perfect Prom Dress

As Prom season approaches, every girl is looking for the perfect prom dress that will make her look and feel gorgeous. Here are some of my ideas for finding just the right prom dress for your shape. If you have a curvy or hour glass figure you should choose a dress that nips in at the waist or has a belt or sash. Quality fabrics that skim rather than cling will look best on you and a straight or A line dress that is quite fitted around the bust will look great. For those with an athletic build, you can make your shoulders narrower using strapless or halter neck dresses. A flared skirt will help to balance out wide shoulders. Keep the top half fitted and keep detail to the bottom half of the dress.

Pear shaped girls look amazing in dresses with A line skirts with open necklines and detail on the top half. They should avoid horizontal lines especially around the hip area. Empire line dresses that fit around the bust and flare out over the waist and hips are also great for hiding a larger lower half.

If you have no waist, you can elongate your torso by wearing a v neck dress or dresses with vertical lines. Seams or long scarves are a flattering way of creating vertical lines. You should avoid belts and sashes or any detail around the waist area. Low waisted dresses will look great on you. You should keep the design of the dress simple and avoid decoration on the top half of the dress.

This Giant Daisies Prom Dress is a great style that will suit almost anyone.
