I have been so busy thinking about the lovely weather and trends and fashions for spring / summer 08, I am afraid I have not really commented at all on New York fashion week. Autumn / winter 08 seems like a very long way away and I’m not sure that I am ready to start thinking about next winter’s clothes when we haven’t even really reached spring. There also seems to have been so much coverage of New York fashion week and all of the news and trends that I am feeling slightly overloaded with information.

But I feel it would not be very fashion forward of me to let New York fashion week pass without a mention. One of the fashions in particularly noticed at New York fashion week was the statement tights at the Rodarte show. These tights were a great new take on fishnets. The uneven holes gave them a really edgy feel and much less cliché than the traditional fishnets. Unfortunately, if I were to wear these tights in the winter, I would really be suffering in the name of fashion, as the great big holes will not offer much protection from the cold!

As we still have a fair amount of winter and cold weather before spring emerges, I thought I would find a really lovely warm pair of statement tights that would brighten up or add interest to my classic sweater dress.
