Tom has been an avid video gamer ever since his dad brought home a trusty Sega Master System on one cold winter’s night. That winter turned into many hours spent in the company of characters such as Alex the Kidd and the legend that was Sonic the Hedgehog (you’d be lying to yourself if you didn’t think his recent games were awful). Since those magical days Tom has never stopped indulging in his passion and, although video games are far more complicated these days, has never stopped believing that the magic in playing a great game firmly remains. While his favourite games tend to be in the strategy, RPG or FPS genres he will play almost anything as long as it’s not awful - although he’s played a fair few of those as well!

When he’s not playing video games he’s writing about them instead. While you can find him keeping you informed here at ButtonSmasher he’s also ranting on over at No Signal Input. He often wonders how he manages to fit all this in (amongst other things), but then realises that time management skills become a religion when you’ve been through university. You can find Tom in the smoky depths of Northern England, but he recommends that you probably shouldn’t visit this part of the world if you want to stay sane.
