Latest UK Releases (From 27th Feb)
It’s not been a bad previous few weeks of new game releases, and for once it’s all across the board and not just situated on one platform. Big releases include Killzone 2, Halo Wars and Empire: Total War; but let’s take a look at the games you can expect to be playing as soon as you have the cash to spare.
Killzone 2 (PS3)
The biggest release that the PS3 has had in a while, and what a release it is. It’s probably not the best FPS game ever, but it still has a pretty kickass multiplayer that should keep you busy for a while.
Halo Wars (Xbox 360)
Ensemble Studios took a shot at trying to make the RTS genre work on a console before Microsoft shut them down. The result was the best RTS the Xbox 360 has to offer, and the fact that it’s set in the Halo Universe is a plus for fans.
Empire: Total War (PC)
The Total War series reaches the 18th century; bringing muskets and naval combat along for the ride. As a big fan of the series it hurts me that my PC is nowhere near powerful enough to play this latest installment, but at least the rest of you stratergy fans can have a good time.
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop (Wii)
Capcom brings a heavily watered down version of Dead Rising to the Wii. The zombies may not number that much, and Frank may have lost the ability to use a camera, but if you’ve not yet upgraded to the more powerful consoles then this may be a subsititute. Barely.
Tom Clancy’s HAWX (PS3, Xbox 360)
Air combat set in the future, need I say more? It’s actually not too bad, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers (Wii, Xbox 360)
The title says it all, and it also tells you that you probably shouldn’t bother buying this.
Here’s the rest of the latest releases:
- Silent Hill: Homecoming (PS3, PC, Xbox 360)
- Tom Clancy’s EndWar (PC)
